To Do in Columbus This Weekend (Nov. 17-19)
It’s Friday, which means it’s time to review a few of the things going on in Columbus this weekend. I will be watching my daughter in the Dublin Jerome High School production of The Little Mermaid tonight and tomorrow evenings (details below if you’re interested), as well as painting kitchen cabinets—a process I will share in a few weeks once it’s complete.
Blue Jackets vs New York Rangers
Friday 7pm
Watch the Blue Jackets take on the Rangers at Nationwide Arena. Columbus is only three points ahead of New York, so this game is an important one if the Jackets want to move to the top of the Metro Division.

Ohio Chinese Lantern Festival
Sunday 5:30pm
A glowing tradition, lantern festivals light up the skies of China every Lunar New Year, marking the return of the spring season and symbolizing the reuniting of family. Its colorful displays of floating, fiery lanterns has brought tourists from around the world, and now Columbus takes this beloved festival to the Ohio Expo Center and State Fairground for a memorable cultural experience.
BONUS EVENT:

OK, this isn’t a weekend event, but it’s a big deal. The Crew hosts New York City FC in the first leg of the MLS Eastern Conference Championship on Tuesday evening. MAPFRE Stadium is nearly sold out, but you may still be able to find tickets. If not, head to one of the local Crew bars or watch the game on ESPN.
