Why You Should Hire a Pro to Take Listing Photos
When you list your house for sale, you want to present it in absolutely the best way possible. That’s why I always hire a professional real estate photographer to take listing photos for my listings. In this video, I show you what a difference it can make. I interviewed Chris Robinson from CA Robinson Photographic to give a few tips for homeowners to prepare their home for photographs. His recommendations are:
- Stage your home. Hiring a professional is the best way to go, but there are simple things you can do yourself as well. For a few tips, watch my interview with Good Day Columbus on getting your home ready to sell.
- We all love our pets, but for the photo shoot make sure that bowls, beds, litter boxes, etc. are hidden away. Also, make sure your pets are taken to another location during the photo shoot, or if that’s not practical, secured and comfortable in an out-of-the-way area of the home, preferably an area that won’t be photographed.
- Curb appeal is critical. Make sure you clean up your landscaping, put trash cans away, and move cars on the street away from the house so the photographer can get an unobstructed shot of the front of the house.
Watch the video below for my interview with Chris and to see some “before” (my iPhone photos) and “after” (Chris’s professional photos) of the property. When you do, I think it will be clear why I always hire a pro to take my listing photos!
